Sahad in ContentSutra writes about the operators’ apathy towards launching mobile TV in India despite TRAI’s policy framework allowing so. He refers to the Financial Times article that discusses the issue. He writes:
India is still sleeping on its 3G policy which will make its mobile TV adoption slower, while the world at large is going ahead with mobile TV plans. Germany’s Debitel is planning to implement Korea’s terrestrial digital mobile broadcasting, to start with, in eight cities in May. Vodafone Germany is also aiming a 2007-launc. But India is not doing anything about it...It sure is a thing that was not picked up by many. Anyway, we Indians are not open to new ideas especially in technology unless it is tested and perfected elsewhere. But otherwise we are always ready to take the risk and sometimes even become guinea pigs like when it comes to drug-testing!
